Carer Information
Helping everyone enjoy the festival
Carer Tickets
We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for all our visitors. We offer one complimentary carer ticket for customers who require essential assistance.
How it works:
Purchase your ticket(s) as normal (excluding the carer ticket). Email Louise@delaprefoodfestival.co.uk with: your Eventbrite order number and one form of accepted evidence (see list below).
Please redact any sensitive information not relevant to your application.
Accepted evidence includes:
Middle or Higher Rate DLA (care and/or mobility)
Evidence of registration as severely sight impaired (blind)
Medical summary of additional needs from a GP or clinician
Access Card / DID / CredAbility Card / Nimbus Card
Once verified, we will add one complimentary carer ticket to your booking. You must bring the accepted evidence with you to allow entry, and the name must match the booking details.
We provide one carer ticket per disabled customer.
There must be at least one paying ticket in the booking for a carer ticket to be issued.
Complimentary carer tickets do not cover optional extras. We do not issue carer tickets for temporary conditions (e.g. broken limbs).
Parents/guardians of under-16s are not entitled to a carer ticket as they are required for entry. If your child has additional needs requiring an extra carer beyond parental responsibility, please follow the steps above for the additional carer attending with you.
The carer must be 18 or over, able and willing to carry out all duties of support, including in emergencies.
A discounted carer ticket is provided on the expectation that your carer is willing and able to assist you throughout your visit and will be available to help you in the event of an evacuation.
Proof of eligibility will be required at the festival entrance to prove the recipient of the tickets and the names match the ID and evidence of disability or the full price will be charged or access denied.
The Venue
Delapré Abbey is a wheelchair accessible venue which offers reduced mobility facilities. The majority of the festival is set outside in the grounds of Delapré Abbey on one level.
Some sessions of the event such as wine tasting and cheese tasting masterclasses are held inside the Abbey, with ramps available on request. Please ask a member of the team stationed outside each session for assistance as required.
Mobility Access
The Abbey itself is spread over several levels, and there is wheelchair-accessible lifts and ramps where ever possible. Staff and volunteers can provide guidance on tight spaces or uneven floors. Please note that mobility scooters are not permitted inside the house.
While the Walled Garden and main external paths are accessible, the wider parkland and unofficial pathways may be uneven or muddy and are not suitable for all visitors.
Ample seating is available at the festival. This is mostly trestle tables and benches.
If you have any concerns or questions about mobility access, please do not hesitate to contact our team..
Assistance Dogs
All service dogs are welcome .
Accessible Toilets and Changing Spaces
We have accessible toilet cubicles available by The Orangery café, as well as on the first floor of the Abbey. Dedicated changing facilities can be found both in the Stable Block and café toilets.
If you have any queries or concerns about these spaces, please contact our Visitor Welcome team.
